2027 Rental Rate:

• Summer Season $2750 per week plus taxes
• Shoulder Season runs from May 1^st to last week of June and from last week of August to end of September. The rate is 25% off the summer rate, which is prorated for the length of stay (minimum 3 days) plus taxes. A cleaning fee of $180 will also be added for any rental which is less than seven days.
• Taxes are not included in the price above and will be added when the quote is sent to the guest for review and approval prior to booking.

Pets: Pets are not permitted at Hazelwood.

Occupancy: Maximum 4 guests including children.

Turnover Day and Length of Stay: 

In summer season, this home has a Sunday changeover and books for a minimum of 7 days. In shoulder season turnover days are flexible and the minimum length of stay is 3 days.

Bed and Bathroom Configuration: 

This charming property features 2 bedrooms (One bedroom has a queen bed and the other bedroom has two twin beds).

There is one bathroom with a standup shower, toilet and sink and one bathroom with a toilet and sink.

House Description: 

Welcome to Hazelwood, a working nut farm where you can relax, explore, and experience a little of farm life. As you enter the property, you’ll see 300 hazelnut trees on your right and 15 walnut trees on your left. The hazelnut orchard is fenced to protect the trees from deer, which eat the leaves and strip the branches. Farther along the drive, you’ll pass the barn, where farm equipment and materials are stored, followed by the workshop, where we process the nuts.

We sell whole nuts and kernels at our farm stand, at local markets, and through select regional retailers. During your stay, you’re welcome to explore the farm and browse our collection of older equipment, preserved as part of Hazelwood’s history. You can also try a manual nut-cracking machine, roast hazelnuts back at the house, and enjoy a hands-on taste of life on the farm.

The new home sits at the back of the property down a private drive amid a spacious grassy yard and open area. A large front deck catches the morning sun, making it an inviting place to begin the day. Inside, the home features 1.5 bathrooms and an open-concept kitchen and living area. Numerous windows offer views of the surrounding woods. The bedrooms have window coverings for privacy and comfort, while the living area’s uncovered windows maximize natural light and preserve the open views.

The home also comes with a heat pump that provides both heat and airconditioning.

Water: 

The water is supplied by a well and therefore water conservation is necessary. The water has been tested and is potable and good for drinking.

Linens: 

In line with the water conservation efforts on the island, the guests are required to bring their own sheets, pillowcases, towels, and dishcloths. Comforters and pillows are provided.

Garbage and Recycling: 

As part of the Hornby Island experience you will be required to visit the Hornby Island Recycling Centre and dispose of your own garbage and recycling before the end of your stay. Refundable bottles and cans can be donated to the Hornby Island Preschool which uses the funds to support their programs.
