Pets: A pet is permitted with prior approval by Wind and Waves. A $150 pet fee per week is required.
Occupancy: Maximum 6 guests including children.
Turnover Day and Length of Stay: In summer season, this home is a Friday turnover and books for a minimum of 7 days. In shoulder season turnover days are flexible and the minimum length of stay is 3 days.
Bed Configuration: There are three bedrooms, all on the same level. A bedroom with a king bed and two bedrooms with queen beds.
Location: Wind Dance is a private 8.73 acres in the Galleon Beach area of Hornby Island close to Central Road.
House Description: This home is over 1800 square feet all on one floor and the property is level with many sunny and shady spots for outdoor relaxing. There is a large deck that is accessible through a set of French doors to the living/dining room. There are two and a half bathrooms. The primary bedroom has a beautiful 5-piece ensuite with a separate shower with large windows overlooking the back yard (there are no curtains in this bathroom). There are also a half bath and a full bath with tub and shower. There is also a very spacious living room/dining room.
This is the perfect home and property for the children to run and play outside with a combination of grass and trees. Please note there is a small pond in the yard that is not fenced. The deck provides the ability to relax and enjoy the peace of the island. The location is fabulous, with quick access to the community trail network and a short bike ride to the farmer's market, school playing field & grassy point for that sundown swim or kayaking.
Water: The water is supplied by a well with a cistern. The water is good for cooking, washing dishes, bathing etc. For drinking you will be supplied with five gallons of water. The water container can be refilled from the Co-op Gas Bar or Ford’s Cove dispenser (for a small charge). The water can have an odor of sulfur when the Hornby Island water table is low.
Linens: In line with the water conservation efforts on the island, the guests are required to bring their own sheets, pillowcases, towels, and dishcloths. Comforters and pillows are provided.
Garbage and Recycling: As part of the Hornby Island experience you will be required to visit the Hornby Island Recycling Centre and dispose of your own garbage and recycling before the end of your stay. Refundable bottles and cans can be donated to the Hornby Island Preschool which uses the funds to support their programs.

We all loved the open concept living / dining room… all the interesting wooden furniture and art pieces. Very easy to share space in, tons of yard…great shower! We plan to return next year.
Quintessential quirky & charming Hornby character house with plenty of space for our multigenerational family of four. You will want to remember to conserve resources (ie: water) on Hornby in summer. Beds were comfortable (1 harder queen, 1 softer queen, and a Goldilocks king). Huge yard. Walking distance to Grassy Point. Ray & Angela were excellent managers. Thank you again!
This house has a lot of character, which meshes well with the hornby island experience. The property is nice and private with lots of funky outbuildings and plenty of room for your dogs to run around! We had a great time cooking and eating both inside and out with our group. I will say it was a gamble using the washrooms as they are exposed, we called the ensuite the “Lou with a view”. Luckily no one was viewing back, except Joel but that’s on him (inside/outside joke) Overall the place was perfect and great for entertaining, we would definitely stay again. Also, grassy point is close by and a great spot to catch a sunset at the end of your trip. Thanks to Ray, Angela and the owners for a nice stay. PS: lots of great books to read
