Turnover Day and Length of Stay: In summer season, this home is a Saturday turnover and books for a minimum of 7 days. In shoulder season turnover days are flexible and the minimum length of stay is 3 days.
Bed Configuration: The home has one bedroom on the main floor with a queen-sized bed and an ensuite with a shower. Access is through a separate entrance from outside the home. On the second floor there are two good-sized bedrooms with blinds. One has a queen-size bed and the other with two XL single beds that can be separate or put together to form a king-sized bed.
Location: This 1300 sq. ft., two story, level entry home is in a beautiful location, on a quiet street, and within 10 min walking distance of Sandpiper Beach.
House Description: The name of this home "Dóigh Nádair" is pronounced doe na dare, and it is a beautiful Gaelic phrase which means ‘The Way of Nature'. From the moment you step onto the property you will feel at home, and at peace. The owners have recently completed considerable updates including repainting the inside, a new hot water tank, and various other updates. Both bathrooms have been updated. The main bathroom has a tub/shower combination and the ensuite has a shower.
The home has a full kitchen with electric stove, fridge, freezer, microwave, and everything needed to prepare a meal. There is also a gas BBQ and a smart TV.
The 1/2-acre lot is south facing and has a wonderful grove of arbutus trees shading the deck. The home sits back from the road with plenty of room for the children to run and play. The home comes with outdoor furniture and indoor games. There is also an outdoor clothesline to dry your towels and bathing suits.
Water: The water is supplied by a well. The owners have installed a new 3 step water filtration system with a UV filter. The water is good for cooking, washing dishes, bathing etc. There is a water cooler and 5 gallons of water provided. You can refill the bottle at the Coop or Ford's Cove if it runs out during your stay.
Linens: In line with the water conservation efforts on the island, the guests are required to bring their own sheets, pillowcases, towels, and dishcloths. Comforters and pillows are provided.
Garbage and Recycling: As part of the Hornby Island experience you will be required to visit the Hornby Island Recycling Centre and dispose of your own garbage and recycling before the end of your stay. Refundable bottles and cans can be donated to the Hornby Island Preschool which uses the funds to support their programs.
