- Summer Season: $1850 per week plus taxes
- Shoulder Season: This home does not rent in the shoulder season which runs from May 1st to last week of June and from last week of August to end of September.
- Taxes are not included in the price above and will be added when the quote is sent to the guest for review and approval prior to booking.
Internet: This home has Wi-Fi.
Pets: A small pet is permitted with prior approval by Wind and Waves. A $125 pet fee per week will be required.
Occupancy: Maximum 6 guests including children.
Turnover Day and Length of Stay: In summer season, this home is a Friday turnover and books for a minimum of 7 days. This home does not book in the shoulder season.
Bed Configuration: This home has three bedrooms. The ground floor bedroom has a double bed, the main floor bedroom has a queen bed, and the loft bedroom room has a queen bed.
Location: The property is located on Central Road near the Sandpiper area of Hornby Island and within 2.5 km of Tribune Bay, the Co-op and the Ringside Market. Close by is the access to Mount Geoffrey Park which has awesome mountain trails which are perfect for mountain biking, hiking or just for a gentle stroll. Sandpiper Beach and Ford’s Cove Marina are also within a short drive or bike ride.
House Description: Clematis Cottage is a bright and cheerful three bedroom home surrounded by beautiful and secluded flower gardens. The home comprises of three levels and therefore does have quite a few stairs. The ground level has the main entrance to the house and a bedroom. The second level has the main living area and comprises of the kitchen, living room, dining area, full bathroom and a bedroom. The third level has a loft bedroom. The second story also has a south facing deck which was replaced in 2025 and overlooks the gardens and the backyard is tucked away for privacy.
Water: The water in the summer is supplied by rainwater catchment and a cistern.
Therefore, extreme water conservation is necessary. The water is good for cooking, washing dishes, bathing etc. For drinking you will be supplied with five gallons of water. The water container can be refilled from the Co-op Gas Bar or Ford’s Cove dispenser (for a small charge).
Linens: In line with the water conservation efforts on the island, the guests are required to bring their own sheets, pillowcases, towels, and dishcloths. Comforters and pillows are provided.
Garbage and Recycling: As part of the Hornby Island experience you will be required to visit the Hornby Island Recycling Centre and dispose of your own garbage and recycling before the end of your stay. Refundable bottles and cans can be donated to the Hornby Island Preschool which uses the funds to support their programs.
Things To Note:
- No smoking anywhere on the property
- No tenting/RV/trailers
- No access to a washer and dryer
- There is a TV for streaming (no cablevision)
- Maximum parking for two vehicles permitted
- The woodstove cannot be used

Great week at Clematis
Really enjoyed our stay at Clematis Cottage. Lots of space for all to relax after a day at the beach or on the trails. Great BBQ and deck for family dinners and nice shaded garden to get out of the heat! Thanks for a wonderful week

So much fun!
We love this casual and cozy house! This year the big kids were allowed to walk to the village (35 min) and to Sandpiper to swim (15 min). They loved the independence! We enjoyed the deck and the open concept kitchen for serving up cheese boards and cooking with our friends. The pups loved exploring the garden. And the only neighbours have pups of their own and are always very kind. This is an oasis close to everything!! Thank you!

Had a great time staying at Clematis Cottage. Large fenced yard was lovely and private. The dog enjoyed being able to wander and we loved sitting out on the deck enjoying the view, reading, eating and sipping G&Ts. The location was perfect for us to access the running trails on Mnt Geoffrey and the stand down the road with delicious baked goods. Highly recommend the scones and lemon squares:)

Home Away From Home
Wow!! What a perfect place for us!! Our small dogs wandered the garden safely while we sipped wine under the umbrella on the deck. There were no campfires allowed this year, but we were never bored…we played so many different games on the coffee table and even watched a couple of musicals on the DVD player. We bought all our food on the island and found lots of reasonable deals including a pastry stand just down the road. Fords Cove is down the other hill for late night groceries and pizza. One of us walked the loop around past Sandpiper Beach every morning and I did yoga there on Thursday morning in the meadow! Of course, we hiked Helliwell and went to the sandy beaches too! We really love the convenience and the comfort of Clematis Cottage! Thanks for hosting us, Ray and Angela! 🌅

Clematis cottage
We loved our stay at clematis cottage. We had lots of room for teenagers, with plenty of board games & puzzles. The sunny deck and barbecue were perfect for evening relaxing after the beach. The easy access to mountain biking trails was perfect. We hope to be back! Wind & waves were well organized & provided clear communication, as always.

Beautiful House
We were very pleasantly surprised at the size of this house. We each had our own room and an updated, fully equipped kitchen for hanging out in. We read on the couch and the deck and played endless board games on the big dining room table. The garden was absolutely gorgeous and relaxing. I would move in tomorrow if I could! Wind and Waves management was always very friendly and super helpful with my questions. We hope to return every summer!! 😁
