2026 Rental Rate:

• Summer Season $2550 per week plus taxes
• Shoulder Season runs from May 1^st to last week of June and from last week of August to end of September. The rate is 25% off the summer rate, which is prorated for the length of stay (minimum 3 days) plus taxes. A cleaning fee of $110 will also be added for any rental which is less than seven days.
• Taxes are not included in the price above and will be added when the quote is sent to the guest for review and approval prior to booking.

Internet: This home has Wi-Fi.

Pets: A pet is permitted with prior approval by Wind and Waves. A $125 pet fee per week will be required.

Occupancy: Maximum 4 guests including children.

Turnover Day and Length of Stay: In summer season, this home is a Sunday turnover and books for a minimum of 7 days. In shoulder season turnover days are flexible and the minimum length of stay is 3 days.

Bed Configuration: The house has one bedroom which has a queen bed. In addition, in the living room there is a sleeper sectional (new in 2025) that turns into queen bed.

Location: This waterfront cottage is on Hardwood Road very close to Grassy Point and is centrally located on Hornby Island. It is within three kms of easy access to mountain trails, the Community Hall, the Hornby Outdoor Market, the Co-op, the Ringside Market and Tribune Bay Beach.

House Description: Whale Tale is charming one bedroom waterfront cottage located steps from the beach. There is an amazing 600 sq.ft. multi-level sundeck with spectacular views of the Georgia Straight. The cottage has many amenities including Wi-Fi and the most amazing walk on waterfront for exploring.

The home is open concept and takes advantage of large windows which overlook the ocean. The kitchen has range, microwave, toaster oven, full fridge, coffee maker and kettle. The full bathroom includes a toilet and shower in separate rooms for your convenience. Inside there is a dining table for four and a sofa and two chairs to enjoy. The huge deck is a perfect place to enjoy the view and watch the kids on the beach. There is BBQ for cooking outside and deck chairs as well as an outside table and chairs.

Water: The home has a well and a water filtration system which has been tested and is approved for drinking.

Linens: In line with the water conservation efforts on the island, the guests are required to bring their own sheets, pillowcases, towels, and dishcloths. Comforters and pillows are provided.

Garbage and Recycling: As part of the Hornby Island experience you will be required to visit the Hornby Island Recycling Centre and dispose of your own garbage and recycling before the end of your stay. Refundable bottles and cans can be donated to the Hornby Island Preschool which uses the funds to support their programs.
