Mossy Rock Cabin

This two bedroom cabin has a maximum number of four guests with an open plan design. There is a brand new outhouse beside the home, one indoor washroom (with a seat and pail), and a outdoor shower.

Enjoy an authentic Hornby experience in this rustic but charming cabin located just a few minutes’ walk from Grassy Point.

Mossy Rock Cabin is most suitable for couples and young families looking to experience the beauty and tranquility of Hornby’s natural environment, while living lightly on the land.

The cabin is open plan with distinct cooking/eating, living and sleeping areas. In the living area, floor to ceiling windows look out onto the part grassy, part treed half-acre lot. There is a queen bed in the sleeping area and a double/single bunk bed in the living area that can be used for lounging by day and curtained off for sleeping at night. 

The rate for the 2025 Summer Season is $1100 per week plus applicable taxes

Pets are allowed on approval from owner ($125 pet fee)

This home is a Friday changeover and books for a minimum of one week during the summer months

In the shoulder season shorter rentals (minimum 3 days stay) are considered. The shoulder season runs from May 1 to mid-June and after the September long weekend to the end of September. A cleaning fee of $110 will be added to any rental less than one week. Shoulder season rate is 25% off the summer rate and is prorated for the length of stay.

The kitchen facilities are simple and include: a full-size sink; table and chairs for four; a small fridge; coffee maker; two convection hot plates; a toaster oven; a kettle; and a toaster. Pots and pans, cooking utensils, dinnerware, glassware and cutlery are also provided.

The cabin has electricity and hot and cold running water. The water is from a cistern and rain water catchment system and is not suitable for drinking. You will be supplied with a five gallon container of drinking water (which can be refilled for a reasonable price at the Co-op).
